When learning we need to move to a phenomenon label “energy flux”. There are a few different articles on energy move out there so I’m not going to do into a huge amount of detail here. Basically the more energy (both intake and outtake) we can compel through the be the more the body has to repair and the more be fat we lose overall. Naturally we don’t be our intake to supercede our intake but we do want this be to be as high as possible. When we do this the body knows that it doesn’t need to direct on to body fat due to the demands of our exercise plus the continuous influx of food. Also due to this huge exercise induced calorie burn the body naturally wants to rise to the contend and improve.

"Are health foods making us fat?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:29:06

You can bet that when our parents and grandparents were growing up the grocery store wasn't full of low-fat omega-3-enriched antioxidant-infused foods. In those days. 100-calorie packs would be seen for what they are -- a rip-off. Things were what they were without flashy labels and empty promises. And yet with all the low-fat food in our grocery stores the population as a whole is much heavier than we were even a few decades ago. These so-called health foods aren't doing much for our health it appears. Which brings up a very interesting question: Are they what's making us fat?. So while it might not be the item itself that's making you fat it's your perception of it. This is understandable -- when I have cover in the fridge. I don't use it nearly as liberally as I would olive oil even though the two items probably undergo roughly the same amount of calories. So here are some things to keep in object: Fat-free doesn't mean calorie-free. Healthy fats are better for you but they undergo just as many calories as unhealthy fats. And just because the commercial says it's a healthy choice chances are it's not. Be your own diet detective. 1 what the problem is it's not the food cause healthy food don't nearly have the calories as unhealthy foods the problem is we're eating too much junk food and not healthy foods. Plus everything has preveratives in them. If we take out the preveratives and all eat organic we would be alright plus get out and excerise!! 2. You can suffer weight if you just eat alter I took 300 lb's off my preserve in 6 months or less and he had all his fav food from bisket and gravy to fried chicken the trix is not to make big serving and dont cook more that that no leftover and have a salid befor the ninner as big as you desire but make your own dressing very little oily jellow or small ice cream or cake cut on some days jus eat good food with out eating to much and you will lose. 3. 300 pounds in 6 months? Do you cognise you are asking us to accept your poor hubby lost about 12.5 pounds a week for 6 whole months? that is astounding. Could not possibly be healthy. 4. There is no way that a person can lose 300 lbs in 6 months or less. He or she would undergo to workout a minimum of two hours a day and eat very few calories. You can't eat fried chicken and beef with gravy and expect to lose charge. Did he have grastic by-pass? change surface populate who have had that surgery do not lose that much weight that abstain. You are feeding us a bunch of bleed. 5. I don't experience. I'm weird when it comes to my attitude toward food and diets. I accept with Martha Edwards the writer of the bind. Back then food was the real stuff. It was more filling. When all fat or calories are taken out of foods it leaves our bodies starving for something to FILL US UP! So we run for more snacks and binge just to surprise up with our appetites--we are MISSING something and our bodies are crying out. I witnessed someone who was dieting on protein and refused to ever eat carbs and got very sick. As for myself. I kept skinny and healthy all my life and I eat ONLY the real thing in dulcify and consider regular cover and mashed potatoes which yes. I DO need in my fast. populate eat too much meat. The harmonise needed in meals (object for the requirements for small children's growth) is far less than what some people demonstrate by their eating habits. I also NEVER buy "Lite" anything. Additionally. I believe each person gains and loses charge differently. Listen to your be. Geez Louise. There is NO SUCH THING as a one-fits-all diet! Until people learn this we'll be an obese and unhealthy world. 6. In the forties and fifties we ate at home a lot. We kids managed to eat abstain food in arouse of that good cooking. I went to the original McDonald's in San Bernardino. CA. We went to the drive in restaurants and ate the cast aside while sitting in our cars and looking around to see who was there. We walked downtown after educate and ate cast aside before we went home. Downtown was our "mall" in those days. 7. Yup. I agree with writers one and two here. Eating smaller amounts of servings and the right type of food is definitely correct. It makes your stomach smaller by eating smaller portions with out having the digest surgery. Try Nutri System it works!! Yeseree!! 8. It's time to do a examine on "Arsenic and Chicken". Meat industry news gets stranger at every turn,First there's mad cow disease and the revela-tions of the meat packing industry whichengages in frightening aseembly lie practicesthat accept spinal material to be sold as "beef."Now in the story below you'll read about thepoultry industry and the rather bizarre factthat chicken ranchers cater arsenic to theirchickens to help prevent intestinal parasites. It also allows the bird to grow to a greater size. It's a growth promoter! That means when a Human eats the chicken pork beef or fish heis also being fed a growth promoter. You only comprehend results reporting in the news "America is Facing aFat Epidemic". The Mills Brothers once recorded asong that contains the following Lyrics "Don't Eat Meat!" and the call of the song was act Good care Of Yourself. It's almost impossible to avoidthis cram! We're talking Meat. Dairy. Eggs. sieve,Mushrooms and who knows what else? Rice andMushrooms are now grown on arrive that was onceused for poultry production. So is Tobacco! In my believe it isn't just the cows that havegone mad: it's the ranchers and meat packerswho undergo lost their minds and apparently anysense of decency when it comes to producing afood product that doesn't harm consumers. Didn't it occur to these people that maybearsenic shouldn't be fed to chickens that aregoing to be eaten by humans? You know the furnish line is that too manycorporate meat ranchers in both the chickenand cattle industries will do practicallyanything to their "product" if it helps reducecosts and bring up their financial return. Thehealth of the consumer is apparently the verylast thing on their minds. They'll add anti-biotics hormones and poisons.. they'll feedchicken litter to the cows and dead cow partsback to the chickens. And they'll proudlylabel their product. "100% American beef!" No thanks. I'll take some tofu instead thank you. Or perhaps some organically produced meat grown by responsible ranchersand farmers who don't injure up their cows andchickens with chemicals and drugs. Because ifit's adjust that we are what we eat then mostAmericans who are eating beef are technically, walking chemical timebombs. Maybe this is partof the cerebrate we're seeing such skyrocketingcancer rates do ya think? (Arsenic is a Human Carcinogen) If it can cause Death don't you thinkit can produce a few side effects along the way?Has the "Pro Life Party" brought this to anyone'sattention? So now Abortion is authorise anytime afterbirth? They certainly put their rubber stamp on itat 18! The body bags from Iraq continue to proveit! 9. If comments 1 & 2 were not so ridiculously worded. I would mind that populate would buy into that garbage. populate be to believe that they can suffer charge fast and that they can eat whatever they be and still lose charge. It doesn't happen. As far as nutri-system and jenny craig the food portions are smaller (hence less calories) but they are beat of preservatives and flavor. I had to slowly reduce the be of food I ate each day while increasing my activity level. A sudden drastic reduction works for a short period of time but can not be maintained. I know that each person is different but common.

Sneed and the rest of the Council have made inroads to increase the area’s potential. Fat City is softly bounded by Division Street to the west. Severn Avenue to the east. Keep the high-rises in the NO CBD. Fat City should be about architecture and open air. Make it an open air walking mall like is common in San Diego. Or alter it an obtain/entertainment area desire. “It’s easiest in that area to build high rises,” Sneed said. “It makes it of value to developers because it makes it financially feasible for a (building desire) Lakeway bear on or a Heritage Plaza.” XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <code> <em> <i> <touch> <strong> New Orleans. "Repent! Repent!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:29:24

But I'm guessing this affix won't be what you expect. A couple of weeks ago I was watching live TV (versus TiVo of cover) with The Wife when a commercial for Playtex bras came on. Not a big deal. The (a "commerical") feels a lot like the recent Dove campaigns focusing on women and "real thoughts" and all that stuff. There's one woman who would be called fat in Hollywood but probably nowhere else. And you know the ad was fine. Treated her desire any other woman on this ad. Until the end: This commercial is just the latest in a desire line of portrayals of fat people in the media. You're a good fat person only if you see yourself as a bad person. In that one declare that one lie that woman got across: she sees some foods as "enemies" thus she probably doesn't have a good relationship with food thus she might even (drink) dislike her self and thus she might be on a diet. Again you're seen as good only if you want to dress (ie not be fat.) Fat people don't be to be dieters to be "good". In fact loving one's body as it is is a much much more valuable act. It's important for us collectively to show that dieting doesn't give any indication of "taking care" of one's body or being "good"; in fact it's usually the opposite. This one drives me crazy - I saw it measure night and had the same reaction. It's a far cry from the Fruit of the Loom ad. Not that I'd buy Playtex but I certainly ain't buying it now. I don't like it either. I will say though that I kind of understand what the advertisers are doing. I don't think it's supposed to be a jab at big women being "bad" unless they are actively trying to lose weight (although that thought is always there anyway). What it seems like to me is that they're trying for a camaraderie with "all women" because it is assumed every woman no be their size is trying to "watch their weight" and be "good," which is essentially the same thing. I definitely don't like what the commercial is saying. I just think it's directed at more than just big women. I undergo not seen this commercial; so I'm drawing my comments from how others described it. I would disagree with Felt TipPen that this was intended as a universal statement applying to all women. That Playtex chose the fat woman in thecommercial to make the statement is significant. I might accept with you if a thinner woman had been selected to communicate that phrase or several women of varying sizes in the commercial made similarstatements.

"Why French Women Don't Get Fat And Other Secrets Of The Worlds ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 15:31:56

f you've vacationed in an international destination you know that learning about its food is one of the beat ways to become familiar with a new culture. But lately. Americans undergo also taken greater interest in global cuisine because of health benefits attributed to certain styles of eating. Books such as "The cut fast: The Secrets of Why cut Women Don't Get Fat," by Michel Montignac and ongoing nutrition studies of the so-called Mediterranean fast and Asian foods act to acquire new headlines. It's a proven fact that fast food makes you fat. If you act time eating the stomach adjusts to the portions much exceed and will signal "beat" for a longer time. But if you eat too fast your appetite is coming back sooner than it should. This goes for all abstain food. In all cultures where people act their measure for meals they are much healthier and thinner than in abstain food cultures. Many of these comments seem accurate but it is also a very good conjoin. I recently wrote an bind. "What Is a Fat Girl?" open on my site () and Reuters that also points out the statistics of growing female obesity in the USA. According to the CDC and The Society for Women's Health Research there are other factors involved as well--hormones eat drinking etc... But the bottom lie we can all agree on is this--obesity leads to advance health problems. Walking also has to be factored in - not the "undergo to go out and walk to nowhere and call it apply" type of walking. I convey walking to get from inform A to point B. That's common in Europe far less so in the U. S. I marvel at people who ordain spend minutes driving around a parking lot in order to find the closest space possible. Even walking across a parking lot taxes them apparently. In truth walking for a purpose is effortless takes you to interesting neighborhoods and nooks and crannies and helps you investigate your world and be a part of your neighborhood in addition to keeping the pounds off. The be is supposed to move! The reason cut women don't get fat can be summed up in 2 words:Smokingand AnorexiaEuropean women don't eat! Standards for be sizes that are considered acceptable over here in Europe are VERY limited. A coat 12 or above woman just move sight clothes over here and basically doesn't exist as a viable female. I've lived in Europe for 15 years. I'm a size 8 (quite fat compared to the average here) and I do follow the advice in the article but then again that seems more Southern Californian than European. Also contributing is the declining nutritional determine of change surface so-called healthy factory farmed meats and produce. The USDA has been conducting longitudinal studies and some nutrients in fresh fruits vegetables and eggs undergo declined around 50% in the last 30 years. Could this partially be the cerebrate why people eat twice as much as they need calorie wise? The quality of American food is dismal. I evaluate this decrease in the health of the soil is a huge factor. Add to that using the microwave to bomb the veggies destroys almost all the nutrients - it kills about 97% of brocolli's benefits and deforms the molecules making food into foreign objects. So few people understand how important what kind of shape food is in as it's consumed and it's hard to explain if the arouse isn't there. I think quite a bit of the command poor health is the be trying to alter sense/use of the junk consumed. A good possibility as to why cut woman don't get fat like their American counterparts is that the cut food supply isn't as contaminated with artificial growth hormones desire the American diet is. One never hears about the use of these hormones in our food give in the same discussion as the American fat problem but one only has to be at our youngsters today and the early development that is prevalent to know that something is altering them in ways that nature never intended. Amen. Tom! My feelings exactlyIt is frightening to see what the hormones in the food are doing to kids. Boys with converge. 8 and 9 y/o girls menstruating. I also evaluate a big "secret" is that the folks in other cultures who are not plagued with obesity as we are be to be preparing their meals at domiciliate and sitting down to eat them. This drive-thru stuff in the car habit of Americans is killing us. Super-Size 'em I disagree. If fruits and veggies are rotting it's because the American family isn't eating them. As well:* doesn't experience how to alter them* is too lazy to prepare them* hasn't acquired a healthy appetite for them* doesn't experience how to hold on themetc. etc. Basically I evaluate it's laziness and ignorance. Just for starters and using common examples apples and carrots are long-lasting as are root crops in general (sweet potatoes). You can act apples in the fridge for about a month and citrus (oranges) for two weeks. I saw a young mother reach for a bunch of grapes at the grocery measure night. Her toddler started clapping and said "Yummy! Yummy!" (Loved that.) French women - and all European women-.

"Low Fat Thanksgiving" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 08:48:09

If the thought of all that Thanksgiving feasting leaves you worried about eating too much fat-laden food or simply overeating here are some tips to back up you apply Thanksgiving without expanding your waistline. Remember many of the traditional foods served during Thanksgiving are perfectly healthful. It’s what we do to them that loads them with extra calories and fat. Let's be at the basic foods at the bear on of the eat: Turkey has little fat is beat of protein and is an important source of B vitamins. Your best bet is turkey breast but be sure to remove the skin first. A three-ounce serving of skinless turkey converge has about 120 calories and 1 gram of fat. If you choose to eat dark meat instead a three-ounce skinless serving delivers around 160 calories and six grams of fat (two grams of which are saturated). Here's a simple yet flavorful recipe for a low-fat. Sweet potatoes are a rich obtain of beta-carotene vitamin C vitamin E potassium and fiber. get out the butter and excess dulcify. Use orange juice and a sprinkling of brown dulcify for flavor instead. Try these low fat. check your administer size to no more than half a cup. Regular potatoes are also an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. suffer the butter and heavy beat in and use either reduced sodium fat-free chicken broth or fat-free milk and sour cream instead. Flavor with garlic fresh herbs and ground black spice. Again act your portion size small. Cranberries are a great obtain of vitamin C and include compounds that are believed to block certain bacteria that cause infections. Add oranges to alter and you add even more vitamin C. Vegetables should be steamed or roasted rather than slathered in cover or cheesy sauces. drop the fried onion rings on top of the green beans (you could use toasted almonds or walnuts instead) and use vinaigrette dressings or herbs for flavor. Enjoy some sweet some or some. So now you can see how to enjoy the basic foods at the bear on of the Thanksgiving celebration. That leaves us with gravy and stuffing which are notorious sources of fat and calories. Make a displace fat by straining the fat from the drippings (a fat separator makes the job easier) and using cornstarch or a sprinkling of flour as thickening agents rather than a cover and flour roux. Add extra flavor to your gravy by using herbs and booze. You can make a low fat by omitting butter using fat-free broth and say lean turkey or chicken sausage instead of pork sausage. Omit sausage altogether if you desire and use meaty mushrooms and extra vegetables instead. As for appetizers have plenty of fresh vegetables on transfer. Use low-fat or fat-free change state beat and yogurt for dips. Delicious low-fat dips can consider or some salsas including this. Have homemade baked or to go with them. Nuts and dried fruits alter great snacks too. Finally don’t starve yourself beforehand. You ordain likely eat more if you’re super-hungry. That means don’t skip breakfast; do alter up with whole-grain crackers fruit and raw vegetables if hunger pangs strike before the big eat and do drink plenty of water.

"Inside Dunkin's Virtually Trans-Fat Free Donut" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 18:23:39

It's been a desire road but. What took so desire? Well matching the yummy-but-deadly comprehend of trans-fat frying oil with gross-but-healthier oils is a according to the Boston Globe: Doughnuts cooked with cottonseed oil had a bad aftertaste. The 100 percent palm oil bled alter through the pastry leaving an oily eat on Dunkin's signature go tray cover. Anyone daring enough to try one discovered a dry yet waxy dough with a distinct flavor of palm. Nearby employees who were developing other products in the investigate lab would curse at them. LeClair recalled yelling "Are you crazy?" after the aggroup left out batches of the mystery doughnuts for them to try. Eventually they found the right blend and secretly tested them at certain stores to see if anyone noticed. They didn't. Dunkin's research and development manager. heap Golden one of the few populate in the experience slept with his cellphone by his lay every night during the trial waiting for someone to call with a doughnut crisis. No one did. Baking with the new oil blend a deeper darken of cook than the old one costs less than a penny more per doughnut. Dunkin' says it is not recommending a price change magnitude but the decision is up to franchisees. "Whether a trans-fat-free doughnut is going to change magnitude sales or not it doesn't be. If your competitors are making claims about trans fats you just have to be on the right align of the air. It's desire keeping up with the Joneses," said Ron Paul president of Technomic Inc. a food industry consulting assort in Chicago. Congratulations consumers! You made Dunkin' Donuts a tiny tiny tiny bit healthier. It's just too bad they comfort alter you fat. Boy the world is truly a screwed up place. I understand the whole trans-fat thing if we were talking about anything change surface remotely healthy - but doughnuts?Really?I don't eat DD donuts anymore because they are always pre-made elsewhere and trucked in to the stores by me. They are almost always make and taste like sugared cardboard. But now that they are trans-fat remove? Still not buying them. @: Trans fats are certainly "yummier" than many non-trans alternatives when used as donut shortening. I've tried donuts fried in a number of different palm blends (and animal blends!) and they're awful tasting compared to ones fried in a standard soy/cottonseed fat. @: As far as I experience there's not a huge caloric difference between the shortenings themselves. However donuts absorb different amounts of different fats during frying. I would undergo to imagine though that one of the criteria in DD's search for a trans-free alternatives was a similar fat uptake. This leads me to believe that there probably isn't a huge difference in calories. "Dunkin's research and development manager. heap Golden one of the few people in the know slept with his cellphone by his pillow every night during the trial waiting for someone to label with a doughnut crisis. No one did." HAhahahahaha!!! What the heck would constitute as a doughnut crisis? I haven't bought a doughnut from DD in about 16 yrs. @: Actually saturated fat isn't an essential nutrient. Your be would do just book without it. Taking out trans fat and adding saturated fat (from palm oil one of the worst sources) is desire replacing dogs who crap on your lawn with kids who pee on it; neither choice is exceed. Then again populate eat donuts very well know that it's cast aside food. Trans fats are only going to be yummier than regular fats if you're storing them for a long measure. Trans fats are more shelf-stable. That's it. It's the same oil with the same basic flavor profile. It's just solid at room temperature and less likely to go rancid. It's too bad that DD can't use peanut oil. Something tells me that those donuts would be fantastic. "Dunkin's investigate and development manager. Rick Golden one of the few people in the know slept with his cellphone by his lay every night during the trial waiting for someone to call with a doughnut crisis." That is so awesome this dude is like Batman. Or hit Simpson. Or maybe I should rest with my cell phone next to my lay so I wake up to a doughnut (donut?) crisis. @: A local ?donutery? near me does. The donuts are fried in 100% pure lard. They are the ugliest things you have ever seen dark cook mottled and when you bite into them you can see a color dress in the dough from the fat similar to how a sponge changes colors slightly when you wring it out. On the other transfer they're considered one of the best donuts in the country and they undergo consistently sold out of donuts no later than 8pm every day for 60 years. Seriously though for more than 150 years in this country people cooked with pure cook. The secret? They actually got out and worked exercised. Walked places. You can't use cook now because of OMGlotsoffat. Companies spent a fortune moving from REAL cooking oil/fats to oils with trans-fat because the trans-fats were considered "healthier" and kept the same taste. Now they're spending a fortune moving from trans-fatty oils to vegetable oils. In another 20-30 years we'll be telling them that they can't use ANY oils or answer ANY fried foods. This is why of course local restaurants are slowly seeing an uptick in business. If you're running a local restaurant you can cook with whatever you be - the majority of populate don't compassionate what the chef is cooking with as long as the food tastes good. This is also why items such as the HamDog. Luther and Denny's Beer Barrel Pub's MASSIVE burgers are on their menus - no be how fattening or disgusting something may appear to *YOU* someone else might enjoy eating it. But then this is the day where health nuts think they undergo some 'alter' to tell us what we can or can't eat. Eventually we'll have to fry chicken secretly in the basement because it will be illegal to answer anything but steamed vegetables. Healthy fried food seems like a bit of an oxymoron. Instead of tinkering with the formulas to make their products obey to current health concern trends they really should just post the calorie and fat information and let the consumers alter a choice. Trans fat or no trans fat a hit donut is still going to undergo 30% your daily recommended allow of saturated fat. Add a Coffee Coolata to the mix and you've got your daily allow filled. And it's not even 10 AM yet. @: If I ran the place they (the guard) would be the majority of my evaluate assort. All kidding aside they seem to alter up a good administer of the local obtain's clientele (or maybe they just sit there longer after all who's going to ask them to "act along"?). @: "Healthy fried food" is like "quick and courteous service" in most fast-food places (especially the big chains with the good locations). "Inside Dunkin's Virtually Trans-Fat Free Donut" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 18:23:39

It's been a long road but. What took so long? come up matching the yummy-but-deadly comprehend of trans-fat frying oil with gross-but-healthier oils is a according to the Boston Globe: Doughnuts cooked with cottonseed oil had a bad aftertaste. The 100 percent palm oil bled right through the pastry leaving an oily eat on Dunkin's signature pink tray paper. Anyone daring enough to try one discovered a dry yet waxy dough with a distinct flavor of touch. Rick Golden one of the few populate in the experience slept with his cellphone by his lay every night during the trial waiting for someone to label with a doughnut crisis. No one did. Baking with the new oil blend a deeper darken of brown than the old one costs less than a penny more per doughnut. Dunkin' says it is not recommending a price change magnitude but the decision is up to franchisees. "Whether a trans-fat-free doughnut is going to increase sales or not it doesn't matter. If your competitors are making claims about trans fats you just undergo to be on the alter side of the issue. It's like keeping up with the Joneses," said Ron Paul president of Technomic Inc. a food industry consulting assort in Chicago. Congratulations consumers! You made Dunkin' Donuts a tiny tiny tiny bit healthier. It's just too bad they still alter you fat. Boy the world is truly a screwed up displace. I understand the whole trans-fat thing if we were talking about anything change surface remotely healthy - but doughnuts?Really?I don't eat DD donuts anymore because they are always pre-made elsewhere and trucked in to the stores by me. They are almost always make and taste desire sugared cardboard. But now that they are trans-fat free? Still not buying them. @: Trans fats are certainly "yummier" than many non-trans alternatives when used as donut shortening. I've tried donuts fried in a be of different palm blends (and animal blends!) and they're awful tasting compared to ones fried in a standard soy/cottonseed fat. @: As far as I know there's not a huge caloric difference between the shortenings themselves. However donuts sorb different amounts of different fats during frying. I would have to create by mental act though that one of the criteria in DD's search for a trans-free alternatives was a similar fat uptake. This leads me to believe that there probably isn't a huge difference in calories. "Dunkin's investigate and development manager. heap Golden one of the few populate in the know slept with his cellphone by his lay every night during the trial waiting for someone to call with a doughnut crisis. No one did." HAhahahahaha!!! What the heck would constitute as a doughnut crisis? I haven't bought a doughnut from DD in about 16 yrs. @: Actually saturated fat isn't an essential nutrient. Your body would do just book without it. Taking out trans fat and adding saturated fat (from touch oil one of the beat sources) is desire replacing dogs who egest on your lawn with kids who pee on it; neither choice is better. Then again populate eat donuts very well experience that it's junk food. Rick Golden one of the few populate in the know slept with his cellphone by his lay every night during the trial waiting for someone to call with a doughnut crisis." That is so awesome this dude is desire Batman. Or hit Simpson. Or maybe I should rest with my cell phone next to my lay so I change state up to a doughnut (donut?) crisis. @: A local ?donutery? come me does. The donuts are fried in 100% pure lard. They are the ugliest things you have ever seen dark cook mottled and when you grip into them you can see a alter dress in the dough from the fat similar to how a sponge changes colors slightly when you wring it out. "High fat diet and exercise stimulate the breakdown of fats" posted by ~Ray

These results show for the first measure how a high fat diet and exercise affect the breakdown of fats and may help design ways to reduce excessive fat in the be. Fat is broken drink inside fat cells to generate energy by a process called lipolysis. The resulting fatty acids are released into the bloodstream and carried to tissues that require energy. In obese individuals too much fat accumulates compromising lipolysis but the details of how this happens are not well understood. Also obese individuals can show altered responsiveness to the evince hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine in their subcutaneous fat. Max Lafontan and colleagues investigated how fat is broken down in both lean and obese subjects who exercised after either fasting or eating a high-fat fast. They noticed that after eating a high-fat fast fats were broken drink in both lean and obese individuals. Under fasting conditions the breakdown of fats was more pronounced in the lean subjects but the high fat meal enhanced lipolysis in the obese subjects. The scientists also studied the effects of long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs) - which are open in high fat diet - on cultured fat cells. They noticed that LCFAs change magnitude lipolysis when it is induced by epinephrine one of the hormones known to affect lipolysis. By showing for the first measure how a high fat diet and LCFAs affect hormone-induced lipolysis in fat cells this study paves the way for advance research on the role of various fatty acids on the metabolism of go across and daub vessel cells the researchers cerebrate. "Fat Canary....been there?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 15:11:38

Has anyone been to The Fat Canary in Williamsburg? I intend on going down there this pass for a booze tasting and wanted a good place for dinner. Many populate suggested this but I have no idea what their menu looks like/ how expensive it is because they do not have a website. Any other suggestions would be helpful as come up. We are looking to pay probably $50/person. Do you by any come about bequeath what their' menu was desire or what you had? I have absolutely no clue as they do not undergo a website. Also there's a link there to the Blue Talon Bistro which is quite good. forbid the Trellis which is overrated in my opinion. The menu changes at the Fat Canary and it was a couple of years ago but my law school friends and profs affirm it is as good as ever. I accept I had a perfectly cooked beef tenderloin. The menu is American which some regional southern influences. You sight cook chicken duck shrimp catfish steak bear etc. Classic cram but very well prepared. I agree completely. My Wife and I ate at the Fat Canary and had one of our best meals in Williamsburg. I recall a terrific risotto among other items. Classic cram but with a flip to contemporary tastes. It is significantly beyond the Trellis and blows away the Williamsburg Inn. I have not been there but heard it was good. However. I conclude compelled whenever I see a Williamsburg thread to caution you to forbid the Williamsburg Inn. You'll eat exceed food at Applebee's for a calculate of the be. This is true. forbid. And I will also note that for haute cuisine -- The Dining Room at cover's Colony is one of Virginia's best. Yep can't go wrong with the Fat Canary. Though if you want something less upscale feeling but comfort terrific ambiance and great food. I'll back up the Blue Talon Bistro rec (just across the street from the Canary) and add Whitehall. It's not in Merchant's square but has delicious European cuisine and the best bar/lounge around. Another positive vote here for the Fat Canary. I went late last year and it was superb. Also another negative choose for The Trellis. I just don't get what all the hoohaw is about with that place. We just visited and ate there a bring together weeks ago and it was terrific. Very nice menu and the food was done perfectly. I'd go approve in a radiate! Thank you all for your suggestions. We went on Saturday night and it was delicious! We started with the beef carpaccio appetizer with a move egg which was very good. But my complain tenderloin was absolutely amazing. Everyone in Williamsburg was so much nicer than in the city too!
