Hello,The 8-10 year old culligan mark 100 in the domiciliate we recently moved into isn't working properly. I was told by someone who came to test the water and furnish solutions that this particular copy has to be rebedded by culligan folks.. then offered a G. E copy for almost 1800 bucks ! Seemed like overkill to me as my water evaluate was showing.6 press and hardness of 18 in the raw water. Through the softner results were the same press (.6) and hardness of 5. I had adjusted the regeneration time and upped the flavor dosage to reflect our family of 4 ;as well as using pro res care solution; but it hasn't improved much. wet smells and tastes fine but the press builds up quickly on tub and shower walls.. as come up as in my 14 year old daughters blond hair -Yikes ! I'm not sure if it is the 9 or 12 advance copy (how would you determine this ?) but the spec sheet I have shows it should be able to handle this easily. Replace or re-bed ?
The Mk. 100's a pain to work with. I'd say regenerate it outright with an industry standard system - I'm not a fan of the GE product lie though. Go for something with a change surface controller - I'm quite partial to the 7000 series.
Greg,Thanks for the advice. With the grief I'm getting from my very blond daughter I just be to alter sure the money I spend will rectify the situation !
Greg - Have you tried a product like press Out? It is put in the brine store with your flavor this may help eliminate the iron air and for much less money. If that doesn't work... don't let people communicate you into a new system. Re-bed what you have and undergo it done by a certified WQA member. Culligan can re-bed it but they do rush a higher price than most. Even so they experience the product and it may be worth using them.
